Start with one category
Choose socks, everyday tops or another manageable group. Avoid emptying the whole wardrobe unless you have the time and space to finish. A smaller sort leaves you with a usable room at the end.
Ask ordinary questions
Does it fit your current needs? Can you find it easily? Do you enjoy wearing it? Keep repair items separate with a clear next action. You do not need a prescribed number of garments or a particular capsule wardrobe to have useful storage.
Leave space to return things
A drawer packed to its limit is difficult to maintain. Fold or hang in a way you can repeat on a normal weekday. If you cannot easily put an item back, the arrangement probably needs less stuff or a simpler layout.
Finish the outgoing bag
Check donation recipients accept the items and condition you have. Wash or prepare items as requested and choose an actual drop-off plan. Keep things belonging to another person for their decision; do not secretly donate them.
Keep going, gently
