A pause is a valid choice
You do not need to decide about important objects because a challenge says it is day twelve. Choose a small category and stop if it feels difficult. A labelled holding box can keep the objects together while you think.
Choose what the memory needs
Some memories need the original item; others may be represented by a note or photograph. That decision is yours. Ask family members before discarding anything shared or entrusted to you, and respect differences in what matters to each person.
Protect what you keep
Consider suitable storage for the material and the room conditions. Keep treasured items away from damp or unnecessary direct sunlight where appropriate. For valuable or fragile antiques, use specialist advice rather than experimental cleaning.
Make a home, not a guilt box
Give the selected items a place where they can be found or enjoyed. If you keep a review box, label its contents and revisit it when you want to. A meaningful collection is not a failed tidy simply because it contains more than one object.
Keep going, gently
